There are a lot of excellent energy saving technologies on the market that could benefit Virginia Public Utilities' customers.

VPU is launching a new conservation and efficiency program to be used as a resource that business owners, community organizations, multi-family housing, construction professionals, and vendors can use to help identify projects that save energy and potentially add to your organization's bottom line. VPU will provide the customer with a financial incentive to encourage implementing an energy efficiency and conservation project.

Add value to your business by saving energy, lowering your utility costs, and building your business by using the tools and incentives available through Virginia Public Utilities Conservation Improvement Program for commercial, industrial, multi-family and community organizations.

CIP is a tool for commercial, industrial, multi-family housing, and community organizations in the Virginia Public Utility service area to help save energy and provide money-saving resources.

The following services are provided - at no cost:

  • Business Facility Assessments

  • Project Design Assistance

  • Conservation Rebates

  • Special Projects

Commercial design and construction professionals, equipment manufacturers, and vendors frequently use this program to assist their own customers in identifying and funding conservation  improvements. Give your business a competitive edge and let VPU help you save energy to reduce utility costs.

In addition to CIP for Commercial and Industrial Customers, VPU is working to develop a comprehensive program to help its residential customers save energy.

Business Facility Assessments

A facility assessment is an excellent way to determine how a business or organization uses energy. More importantly, it identifies tangible ways to improve efficiency and lower electric demand.

Performed by VPU's authorized consultants, this service can range from a simple walk-through to a detailed analysis of your energy supply, demand, and costs.

Project Design Assistance

Designing energy efficiency into a commercial, industrial, multi-family housing or community organization's facility can save significant energy and money over time. Building owners, architects, engineers, and construction professionals are

asked to consult VPU at the initial stage of a project, if possible, for plan reviews, design recommendations, energy modeling, and  rebate calculations.

Conservation Rebates

Virginia Public Utilities provides rebates to customers who design energy-efficient technologies into new facilities or make process improvements that save energy and/or lower electric demand.  VPU encourages customers to pursue process improvements and implement energy efficiency measures. Contact us if you think your project  may be eligible.
