COMMISSION MISSION STATEMENT

The MISSION of the Virginia Public Utilities Commission is to manage and operate the Department of Public Utilities in compliance with the City Charter and the VPU Mission Statement.

The Commission shall assure consistency in the competent management and operation of the Department by promoting dedication to a Total Quality management concept/program.  This will achieve continuous improvement through quality management leadership, employee participation and training, and sensitivity to customers current and future needs.  

MISSION STATEMENT

The mission statement of the Virginia Department of Public Utilities is to function as a municipal utility and provide our customers with safe, reliable and quality long term electric, water, gas and steam.  The products and services will continue to be provided in an environmentally and financially responsible manner.

 The Virginia Department of Public Utilities will continue to aid and assist the City of Virginia in procuring future commercial, industrial and residential development with utility expertise, products, services and structure while expanding and updating services for the satisfaction of our customers and the well being of our community.
